Our History

In 2000, four people came together with an idea: what if the narrative aspects of video games could be elevated through the use of Hollywood resources? The technology was catching up to richer, more audacious narrative notions for the medium, and the actors, writers, composers, and sound designers needed to make that happen were all in Los Angeles.

Blindlight paved the way for modern-day VO production in games, brokering hundreds of deals for the use of celebrity voices, borrowing an outsourced team-based model for game writing from the TV industry, and even gaining a seat at the SAG-AFTRA negotiating table. Getting Paul McCartney on board to compose original music for BUNGiE’s Destiny? That was Blindlight.

In 2018, the company joined Keywords Studios in their international network of studios.  A few years later, after nearly two decades on the Sunset Strip, relocated its headquarters to Burbank.
